To commemorate the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, the Sint Maarten National Commission for UNESCO presented copies of the DVD ‘Pride in our African Heritage’ produced by the students of SIMARC (Sint Maarten Archaeological Center) under the supervision of Dr. Jay Havisier and initiated by the Sint Maarten National Commission to all School Board Representatives of elementary and secondary schools on St. Maarten and representatives from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports.

The Maarten National Commission for UNESCO would like to thank Mrs. Sidonia Lacorbiniere-Hodge, Head of the Department of Education, for allowing SG-UNESCO, Marcellia Henry, to make this presentation at the first back to school meeting with the school board representatives!
