- Poetry Reading and Spoken Word Competition
Collaborators: Soualigan Fyah and Philipsburg Jubilee Library
On February 21, 2014, a poetry reading and spoken word competition was held in collaboration with Soualigan Fyah and the Philipsburg Jubilee Library to bring awareness of the importance of celebrating ones Mother Language.
The event was held at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library on the international day from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Secondary Students were asked to create and recite poems in their mother tongue language, whether it be Spanish, Dutch, French or English.
Prizes from the House of Nehesi and National Commission were given to the students who finished in the first, second and third place.
