UNESCO Sint Maarten and Sint Maarten Nature Foundation Launch UNESCO Sandwatch Educational Program in Local Schools

The Sint Maarten Office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) together with the Sint Maarten Nature Foundation launched its first series of presentations in local schools using the UNESCO Sandwatch program. Man and Biosphere Committee meets with Prime Minister Wescot-Williams

The Man and Biosphere (MAB) Committee met with Prime Minister Wescot-Williams on March 21, 2014 to discuss the benefits of a biosphere reserve designation, and the proposed sites for St. Maarten.  The Man of War Shoal Marine Park and Mullet Pond were selected by the MAB committee as sites that will be nominated for a UNESCO.. read more →
